Trailer and poster of “Hot Summer Nights” with Timothee Chalamet

If for the past year we had to distinguish a single young actor to whom a brilliant future will come, it will be Timothee Chalamet, who impressed us with Greta Gerwig’s “Lady Bird“, Scott Cooper’s “Hostiles” and above all with “Call Me by Your Name” by Luca Guadagnino. He has recently tensed us down, and has regretted working with Woody Allen and donating his charity, but we will forgive him and we will continue to watch his career with great interest.

And Chalamet‘s newest creative step is called “Hot Summer Nights”. The film is a director and screenplay debut of Elijah Bynum and tells of the shy city boy Daniel (Chalamet), who spends his summer in the Cape Cod where he enters the dangerous waters by mingling with the drug business of his rebellious neighbor (Alex Rowe) begins a romantic relationship with his sister (Maika Monroe).

It sounds like a classic “coming-of-age” story and looks like you can see from the first trailer of “Hot Summer Nights“.

It seems a bit of a standard, nothing that is a bartender aesthetically, but we are positive because we like such stories, and besides Timothee Chalamet, there are other stars like Maika Monroe and William Fichtner. The reviews from “Hot Summer Nights” on last year’s SXSW are positive, though the fact that the film is slowing down and the fact that it goes out on DirecTV well before our favorite A24 to release it in cinemas can be considered a bad sign . But as we have said, we are positive and we will gladly take an eye on it.

Comedy, drama, thrillers & adventure are my picks. As a family oriented person, I choose to review movies that look at the bright side with a happy ending. Love my kids, husband and yoga.
